Frequently
Asked Questions
1. Do I
have to buy any equipment?
All equipment with
the exception of hard cup and solid rubber cleat shoes (which you are
responsible for) is issued by the Conference. All issued equipment is
sanitized at the end of the season. The player keeps their game jersey
upon the completion of the season.
2. How do I
get a physical for my player?
Any doctor
or medical clinic can do a sports physical.
3. Who
handles my team’s banquet & trophies?
Banquets and
trophies are a team function only. The Conference does not provide
these functions, they are team initiated only.
4. Will
there be any other fees or costs over and above my
registration
fee?
Possibly,
depending on your team, and what they want to do as a team. Costs may
involve a banquet, trophies, jackets or bags, etc. Usually at your
first team meeting, the Head Coach will outline what the team wants to
do and what it will cost. Again this is solely a team function. Team
picture packets will also be available for parents to purchase.
NOTE:
Make sure you get a receipt for any funds given to the team for any team
functions. Team financial records are to be available for the parents of
the team their player's/spirit leader's is assigned to only.
5. What
will my spirit leader (cheerleader) uniform cost
There is a maximum
amount, based upon divisions that a team can charge for uniforms. Spirit
uniforms are a team function, and amounts will vary. Your team’s
coaching staff will inform you of what they plan to do for the spirit
uniforms and the cost for them.
6. What
time are practices, and where are games played?
Practices are 4
nights a week, 6:30 to 8:30 pm until the start of school. After school
starts, practices are 3 nights a week, same times. Games are played at
various high school football fields through the Las Vegas valley. Some
games may also be played at the fields at Ed Fountain Park.
7. How much
of the registration fee goes to pay salaries?
None. The board
and all coaches are adult volunteers who volunteer their time for this
activity. Every dollar of your registration goes to support the program,
pay officials, field use, equipment, etc. In addition, every adult
volunteer under goes a background and police check. Those that don’t
measure are not allowed to volunteer.
